Picture This: It was Saturday afternoon, May 21, 2005 and Albert Maysles was sitting on a bench at a point ‘exactly between ‘Strawberry Fields’ (Central Park, West 72nd Street) and The Dakota (Central Park West/West 72nd Street). It was one of the first really nice days of Spring 2005….Sid Benstein and I had just heard some live in Central Park music and were heading up the hill towards ‘Strawberry Fields’ inside Central Park (West 72nd Entrance)……as we walked towards Central Park West. I spotted (to my right) Film-Maker-Albert Maysles, who was sitting on a bench with his video camera talking with the people passing and just enjoying the beautiful spring day in Manhattan.

After Sid Bernstein & Mr. Maysles exchanged greetings and chatted for a few minutes, I invited Mr. Maysles to join us at Sid’s favorite Vietnamese Restaurant-The Saigon Grill in Manhattan’s West Side..…..over dinner Sid Bernstein and Albert Maysles were sharing stories about The Beatles 1st U.S. Visit on Friday, February 7, 1964…..The rest is history.

The DVD ‘The Beatles 1st U.S. Visit’ was filmed by Albert & his brother David Maysles.
